Iranian Bird Species
Persian bird has a total of 534 species. Two of them are endemic, three birds introduce by humans and 14 species are rare. 19 species are on the list of birds and endangered species. Obviously, due to increased travel and tours of nature and bird watching in Iran, Familiarity with Iranian bird species can be a guide to knowing Iran.

(A) or random: A species that is rarely or randomly seen in Iran.
(E) or Endemic: A species only seen and found in Iran.
(I) or introduced: A species that introduced as a species, directly or indirectly from human actions in Iran.
(EX) or destroyed: a species that is no longer seen in Iran. But it may exist in other parts of the world and in other countries.
(X) or extinct: Specie or species that no longer exist in the world.

Desert and semi-desert region

Chlamydotis undulata, Oenanthe monacha, Ammomanes cincturus, Hoopoe Lark Alaemon alaudipes, Desert Warbler Sylvia nana, Hooded Wheataer Oenanthe deserti, Oenanthe monacha and Trumpeter Finch Rhodopechys githaginea.

Long-legged Buzzard Buteo rufinus, Common Kestrel, Black-bellied Sandgrouse Pterocles orientalis, European Roller Coracias garrulous, European Bee-eater Merops apiaster, the ubiquitous Crested Lark Galerida cristata, Isabelline Wheatear Oenanthe isabellina and Black-headed Bunting Emberiza melanocephala.
Alborz Mountains, Zagros Mountains and the highest mountain peaks in the provinces of Azerbaijan, Khorasan, Kerman and Baluchestan contain typical mountainous species. This list include: Aquila chrysaetos, Gypaetus barbatus, Tachymarptis melba, Hirundo rupestris, Eremophila alpestris, Pyrrhocorax graculus, Prunella collaris, Monticola saxatilis, Phoenicurus ochruros, Tichodroma muraria, Montifringilla nivalis and Tetraogallus caspius.
